| Falcons urge fans to arrive early | |
The Atlanta Falcons took an unusual step and just sent out a news release asking fans to leave home earlier than usual for Saturday night’s playoff game with Green Bay. The Falcons are expecting heavy traffic in downtown Atlanta, and that’s not just because of the remnants of the winter storm that hit the city hard this week.
“We’ve been asked by local authorities to encourage our fans to get to the (Georgia) Dome early,†team president Rich McKay said. “Downtown Atlanta will be packed with numerous activities highlighted by our home playoff game on Saturday night against the Packers. Additionally, the Georgia World Congress Center is hosting the 49th Annual Atlanta Boat Show on their campus and the Hawks have a home game on Saturday at Philips Arena. Those three events alone have the potential to create extremely heavy traffic, so we’re asking our fans to get to the Dome as early as possible.†The game is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Georgia Dome gates will open at 6 p.m. Pregame festivities normally held at Falcons Landing have been moved to the Orange Parking Lot because of the snow. The first 60,000 fans through the gates will receive a Falcons Rise Up battle flag. Thanks for reading! . Posted in falcons-news | Comments Off
